YouTube Disco: New Music Discovery Project

YouTube’s New Pandora like Music Discovery Project and Playlist Creation Tool. Allows you to use YouTubes massive video archives as your own personal music video playlist. Just plug in an artists name and begin. [Artist video] stays artist specific and [Mix Tape] mixes in other similar artists like Pandora does.

I got great results when I searched for: Shpongle, Underworld, Moby, DJ Dan, Tiësto, ATB, Beastie Boys and plenty of others. Follow your own tastes. Its a great media player that you can just let go while working or do other things and the videos are fun to watch. Sorta like having your own custom MTV channel only with good music and no commercial interruptions. If you like saving media locally, RealPlayer saves these perfectly and you can convert to iPod video or Mp3. Had minor issues with Internet Explorer. Ran flawless in Firefox. Looking forward to future developments. Check it out.

DJ Dan: Future Retro Mix Tapes

Beezo DJ Mix Download Site

I just ran across DJ Enrie’s Beezo mix site and am so glad to have found it. Since I left Los Angeles a decade ago, I had no idea Power Tools was still grooving. I remember back in high school listening and dancing to the sounds of Tony B, Artie the one man Party, Richard Vission, Enrie in the early 90’s LA House / Rave daze. This lead me to the warehouses of the Underground scene and inspired me to learn to DJ and get heavily involved in the dance community and eventually to the entheogen community. It was a chain of fortunate events that greatly impacted who I would become. At any rate, download some of these mixes, you will be glad you did. A few of my favorites are below:

DJ Dan: Future Retro Mix Tapes

FROM: DJ Dan’s Facebook Page

Future Retro is all about paying homage to dance music, keeping this in mind we would like to introduce you to the Future Retro Mixtape Series. In this series DJ Dan takes you on a musical journey of dance music’s infamous past, a time before the massive marketing machine of today’s mixed compilations, mix’s that until now haven’t seen the light of day outside a tape deck, where the parties consisted of a burned out warehouse, a box of records, and thousands of your closest friends. Dan has opened up the archive to pick out, dust off and digitize the most classic tapes from his collection dating all the way back to 1991. We challenge you to do the same, send us your favorite mixtapes that have been sitting in that shoebox in your closet and share with the rest of the Future Retro Community.

DJ EROCx1: A Tribute to Bob Marley Mega Mix

I mixed up a little Marley Tribute for a BBQ yesterday. Started of with a sample from I am Legend. I really love that scene.

Two days before Bob Marley was suppose to perform at a peace rally a man walked in to his room and shot him down. Two days later he walked on stage and performed.

They asked him in an interview later that week, "Why didn't you rest after being shot?" Bob Marley replied, "The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I? Light up the darkness."

The Love: 4 hour all ambient massive mix

Of the 40 or so mixes Waldemar aka DJ lp3 has made available online, this one is BY FAR his most-requested for download. It being all ambient (and mostly beatless except for just a couple of instances of light organic downtempo), it seems to be very popular among people who are not into electronic dance music. It is great for meditation, chillin or as a sound track to ones entheogenic state.

Here is the tracklisting and download link:
